update: December 2020
Dear Patients,
As county health officers in the Bay Area prepare to implement shelter-in-place to prevent and reduce the burden on local hospitals due to surging COVID-19 infections, optometry offices will remain open. We have been designated as an essential service and the California Optometric Association continues to recommend that patients keep their eye examination appointments and maintain good ocular health. Since reopening to routine care on May 18th, our office has implemented and practiced increased safety measures including extensive personal protective equipment (PPE) such as N95 rated face masks, face shields and breath guards installed on all examination equipment, medical grade H13 HEPA filters in each examination area and diligent disinfection before and after each patient encounter. We have reduced our patient volume by 20-30% and continue to offer all services by appointment only in order to adhere to social distancing protocols. We are confident that these enhanced measures, in addition to our practice of universal precautions, provide a safe environment for not only our patients, but also for our staff and their families.
In good health,
The Marin Optometric Group Team
Dr. Darwin Tsang, Dr. Tina Cheung, Dr. Robert Levine and staff

Your health and safety are our biggest priority!
Social Distancing
- All in-office visits are by appointment only. When you arrive please wait in your car, call the office and one of our team members will assist you in.
- We ask that you please refrain from bringing any friends or family with you to your appointment except for a caregiver or guardian. Help us limit the number of guests in the office to maintain a safe distance between our patients.
- If you have an appointment, our staff will email you any applicable paperwork. Please fill these out in advance and bring with you to your appointment.
Temperature Checks
Everyone entering the office will have their temperature checked with a non-contact forehead thermometer. Anyone showing signs of fever or illness will be required to reschedule. |
Frame Selection and Sanitization
During your optical appointment, one of our team members will assist you with frame selection. Any frames that are touched will be sanitized before being replaced into the optical. Protective equipment will be deployed during any close contact between our staff and yourself. |
